Blog 8 Insight

Blog 8 Insight
                 Steps:

Through reading Rick swette’s blog, I think abstract thinking and lateral thinking are very important in interaction design. This requires designers to extract the characteristics and essence of things or problems. And as interaction designers, we should not only focus on the phenomenon caused by problems, we also need to look for the reasons for the issue. For example, there is a lack of washing machines in a university. During the interview, we should pay more attention to the causes of this phenomenon, such as why students do not have washing machines? Why can’t people do the laundry? Instead of spending a lot of time explaining how many students think this is a big problem. We should look for insight from the problems. As designers, we should find problems in the process of research, not to prove the results. Analyzing problems from multiple perspectives is also a very important part of finding insight.

The summary of Rick swette blog:1. Insights work is a creative process.

2.Don’t let your work suffer by limiting your “research” to hard numbers or your own primary research.
